Perhaps, I should start these posts by saying “If you haven’t checked your Amex Offers lately, you may want to do that ASAP” because American Express has been offering some amazing discounts lately!
AMEX OFFERS
There is no doubt the pandemic has affected businesses across the board and many are developing creative ways to increase revenue. This has created several unique opportunities for individuals that have credit cards (like saving 40% off a plane ticket).
Over the past few days, I’ve highlighted several travel-related Amex Offer discounts (like THIS, THIS, and THIS). And Amex continues to drop even more great offers so, let’s just jump into it…
There’s currently a new targeted Amex Offer to receive 5 additional Membership Rewards points per dollar for spend at Amazon up to 2000 points (or $400 spend) by 11/13/2020.

If you’re not familiar with Amex Offers, it’s a program where your American Express credit cards are targeted for various savings and bonus offers. In many cases, these offers can save you big money. I mean…would you pay $100/year to save $500…or more?
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
As always, I would recommend that you read through the offer terms so you’re aware of how to utilize this offer, but the terms are as expected and straight forward.
HOW DO I SEE MY ‘AMEX OFFERS?’
To view your Amex Offers, login to your Amex account and scroll to the bottom of your account summary page where you’ll see a list of eligible offers for that specific card. It should look like this…

FINAL STAMP
I was hoping I would be able to find this offer on all of my American Express cards but was only able to locate it on my American Express Gold Card [READ MORE].
Recognizing Amazon is NOT a bonus category on any American Express credit card, the ideal location for this offer would be on a 2x card like The Blue Business Plus Credit Card from American Express [READ MORE], though the 1 point difference is negligible (6 points total on Gold vs 7 points total on Blue Business).
It’s worth noting that Amazon announced today that Prime Day will be October 13 and October 14, 2020.
PRO TIP: If you use your Amazon account frequently, an easy and fast way to utilize this offer is to complete an Amazon Reload which should trigger your Amex offer. But I would only do this if you ABSOLUTELY KNOW you’re going to spend $400 at some point in the future on Amazon.
Additionally, you may still be able to save $50 with THIS OFFER if you haven’t utilized it yet. With some strategic planning, some serious savings can be had.
But as always, throw FOMO (fear of missing out) out the door if this is going to put a strain on your finances. Generating points on purchases that you were going to make anyway is great but paying late fees or interest on those offers is nonsense and negates the value!
Pro-Tip #2: I would recommend adding this Amex Offer ASAP even if you don’t plan to use it. American express has started this “unique” trend where they only let so many people add the offer to their card and once it hits that limit, it disappears from your account if you haven’t loaded it.
And don’t forget, you can use THIS TRICK if you want to see more Amex offers.
Were you targeted for this Amex Offer? Do you plan on taking advantage of this offer?
