Qatar Qsuites is widely regarded as one of the best (if not THE BEST) business class products in the sky. One of questions I receive the most is “how do I book QSuites?” and “is it really that good?”
Well, if you’re interested in experiencing it for yourself, there is fantastic award availability during summer and fall 2021 from Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), Houston (IAH), Philadelphia (PHL), New York (JFK), Atlanta (ATL), Miami (MIA) and several other major cities to Doha and beyond.
I understand that we’re all social distancing at the moment and nobody knows for sure when life and travel will return to normal, but I’m optimistic that this will have passed by then and we will be able to travel again. If not, we have bigger problems on our hands.

Which Cities Have QSuites?
Booking flights nearly a year in advance can be challenging if you’re searching for a specific type of seat configuration (Qsuites in this case). Add in a pandemic and it’s extremely complicated because some airlines are not flying their “best” planes on certain routes. Understanding this equation, I assume many equipment swaps will take place between now and then.
For what it’s worth:
- Qsuites are available on all A350-1000s
- A modified version of Qsuites is available on 787-9s
- Qsuites are available on select A350-900s, 777-200LRs, and 777-300ERs
Obviously this may change over the next year but rest assured that even if you book their “old” business class, you’ll still receive a solid product.
Availability & Booking

Your best bets for booking these flights are via American Airlines AAdvantage (at AA.com)
American charges 70K miles + $7.65 one-way in business class to the Middle East, or you can continue on to Africa (including South Africa) for 75K + $15.70 one-way.
Yes, that’s two 11+ hour business class flights for 75k!!! And guess what…South Africa just announced they are reopening their border to EVERYONE (including Americans)!!

Here’s an example from Chicago (ORD) to Cape Town (CPT)…
Quick Thoughts

If you had a slight case of FOMO because you weren’t able to join your friends and family for “year of return,” here’s your chance!
For the sake of comparison: Cathay Pacific Asia Miles would charge 75K to Doha (and 90K beyond), but they also add ~ $666 in taxes and fees, making American the better option.
FINAL STAMP
There is no guarantee that travel will be available and/or advisable by September/October 2021, but that is (hopefully) far enough out to consider booking. Again, if we are unable to fly 10 months from now, we (as a society) have bigger problems on our hands.
Keep in mind that American Airlines will let you change dates and routing within a year of the date of booking as long as origin and destination don’t change, so you could theoretically change these as far out as a year from today if availability permits.
As far as Qatar Airways – the airline – they have some of the best service, food, and drinks of all the airlines in the industry. However, Qsuites – the business class product – pushes it far beyond what other airlines offer.
It’s worth noting that Qatar has been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons, but I trust everyone can make their own decisions concerning that.
