Several Chase Cards Offering Spending Bonuses (3x-10x at Amazon, on Groceries, etc.)

If you have any Chase-issued cobranded credit cards, you may want to bookmark this post.

Over the course of 2020, we’ve seen credit card issuers add temporary and long-term perks to cards in an attempt to keep customers engaged while spending habits were changing.

In an effort to entice card members to continue spending, in the past week alone, we’ve seen Chase:

And Chase appears to be adding additional benefits to several other cards. Let’s take a look…

ADDITIONAL SPEND BONUSES

I received an offer to earn 5x on Amazon.com purchases and 3x on grocery store purchases (up to $1500 in combined purchases) on my Hyatt credit card between 1 November and 31 December 2020.

Initially, I thought it was weird because I have the old Hyatt card (no longer open for applications), not the new World of Hyatt credit card.

My Hyatt card hasn’t been receiving much love (aka swipes) given I haven’t stayed in a hotel recently, but I definitely registered and pulled it out of my sock drawer because those are two lucrative categories.

Well, it turns out Chase is targeting their portfolio of cobranded credit cards.

If you’re not sure if you’ve been targeted, simply CLICK HERE and let Chase tell you. Again, this is for cards that are issued by Chase. A few examples include:

  • British Airways Visa Signature Card
  • Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Credit Card
  • United Club Infinite Card
  • United Explorer Card
  • Hyatt card (the old version)
  • The World of Hyatt Credit Card (the new version)
  • IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card

…or practically any card on THIS PAGE.

FINAL STAMP

I trust many cardmembers will find both Amazon and grocery spend attractive as we head into the holiday season.

Even if you’re not a big spender and don’t plan to maximize the offer, it’s worth a few seconds to see if you’re targeted. Additional points are always great, particularly if you’re going to make the purchase anyway. It’s also strategic for when travel does return as you’ll be more equipped to make that special redemption.

Were any of your cards targeted for the bonus spend? If so, do you think you’ll maximize the offer?
