A few days ago I posted about an interesting Southwest Airlines promotion.
Well, if you are interested but forgot to register, you have one last chance as the promotion has been extended but for only 24 hours.
Previously the end date was yesterday (9/24), but now you have through end of day today (9/25) to register and purchase a ticket for travel by 11/15. Is it worth it?
EARN SOUTHWEST COMPANION PASS
We’ve spoken a million times on this site about the Southwest Companion Pass and how to maximize it for two years.
However, with this new Southwest promotion, the carrier is offering a limited-time Companion Pass. In order to take advantage of the promotion, there are few steps you have to complete, including:
- REGISTER HERE for the promotion
- Purchase a flight BEFORE 24 September 2020 (Yes, that’s less than 48 hours away)
- Complete travel between 22 September – 15 November 2020 (Pro-Tip: A one-way SWA flight qualifies)
Once you complete all of the aforementioned steps, you will receive the promotional Companion Pass that’s valid between 6 January – 28 February 2021 (nearly two months)!
SOUTHWEST COMPANION PASS RECAP
I currently have the SWA Companion Pass and I saved a ton of money on family travel (like when we traveled to Hawaii HERE and HERE). But if you’re unfamiliar with the SWA companion pass, it’s the best value in travel because individuals that possess the Companion Pass can have a companion fly with them for just the cost of taxes (which are generally $5.60) regardless of whether paying cash or redeeming points.
An additional perk to having the companion pass is that you can change WHO your “companion” is up to three times during the promotional period. That’s hard to beat especially if can find a cheap ticket for the initial flight.
For the past two years my family has been traveling 3-for-1 on Southwest (my wife was my companion and my daughter was less than 2 years old and children fly free). Cha-Ching!!
However, there are some minor terms and conditions that you may want to be aware of during this promotion:
- Charter flights, group travel, Southwest Vacations Packages, and Rapid Rewards award tickets, don’t count towards this promotion
- Changes made to itineraries after purchase may eliminate qualification for this promotion
Southwest Airlines is running a promotion right now where if you book a flight (even a one-way flight) in the next 48 hours and travel before November 15, you and a “companion” can fly BOGO (2-for-1) for nearly two months in 2021. So where does Southwest fly?
Interestingly, Southwest is also running a concurrent sale and tickets are fairly cheap.
For example, I was able to find a ticket between Nashville and Chicago with a departure date less than two weeks from today. Additionally, more than 50% of the days in October cost less than $50 between Nashville and Chicago…
Are you interested in taking the Companion Pass for a test run? Who would be your companion if you had a companion pass?
