American Express and Delta have a major co-brand partnership. What makes these cards so rewarding are the perks you obtain when flying Delta and the ability to earn status through spending.

At the beginning of the year (geez, that seems so long ago), American Express introduced these cards and are now offering increased bonuses. If you’re in search of additional Delta Skymiles, this may be a good opportunity to boost your balance.

INCREASED WELCOME BONUSES

American Express and Delta have launched limited-time increased welcome bonuses on their co-branded credit cards (up to 70,000 SkyMiles), valid through 28 October 2020. Let’s take a look at the offers.

Which Card Should You Get?

So, there are some things you should consider before applying for one (or more) of these cards.

American Express appears to allow most customers no more than 4 credit cards at a time (charge cards are separate) and you can only apply for 2 credit cards every 90 days. If this is confusing, you will want to READ ABOUT THE BANK RULES.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that the bonuses on each of these cards is “once in a lifetime.” In other words, you can only receive the bonus on each of these cards once as they are different “products.” Understanding this rule, it’s always a good idea to apply when they have increased bonuses. However, Amex seems to drop cards off your list after around 7 years so “lifetime” is a very grey area.

FINAL STAMP

Amex refreshed their co-branded Delta cards earlier this year.

Each card will have a different appeal and much of it will depend on your spending patterns, and the card benefits that you value most.

Regardless of the benefits, the good news is that the cards have an increased welcome bonuses and that’s always a good thing.
