The American Express Centurion lounge Charlotte will open today and it couldn’t come soon enough.
As AA’s second largest hub, Charlotte (CLT) has 700+ daily departures, the two Admirals Clubs are packed to the brim, it’s borderline impossible to get into the Priority Pass-eligible Minute Suites without an advance reservation, and there just aren’t enough white rocking chairs there to go around.

CENTURION LOUNGE CHARLOTTE DETAILS
The 13,295 square foot lounge is located at the intersection of Concourses D & E, mezzanine level, making it accessible airside to all gates at CLT and is open daily from 5:30am-10pm.
Some of the features include: a bar, showers, family rooms, and great views of downtown and of the airport tarmac.
The celebrity chef for the Centurion Lounge Charlotte is Joe Kindred, who has two restaurants (Kindred in Davidson, NC, & Hello, Sailor in Cornelius, NC). He is a James Beard Award semifinalist and American Express says the menus he’s curated are “inspired by his experience and memories growing up in North Carolina.”

HOW DO I ACCESS THE CENTURION LOUNGE?
Platinum Card from American Express and Business Platinum Card from American Express card members have access to American Express Centurion lounges.
Additionally, Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card also added access to the Centurion Lounges as a benefit so cardmembers can now access these lounges when flying Delta tickets booked with the card.
At the moment, the Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card even has a limited time offer to earn up to 100,000 bonus miles and 20,000 Medallion Qualification Miles. Until April 1, 2020 you can:
- Earn 80,000 bonus miles and 20,000 Medallion Qualification Miles after you spend $5,000 in purchases on the card in your first 3 months.
- Plus, earn an additional 20,000 bonus miles after your first anniversary of cardmembership.
NOTE: Each Platinum cardmember is entitled to two complimentary guests and children under 2 do not count towards this total.
FINAL STAMP
Personally, Centurion Lounges are some of my favorite lounges so it’s exciting to see that Charlotte is opening a new Centurion Lounge today. The airport desperately needs more lounge capacity, so this will be a much needed improvement for the airport.
There’s a growing network of Centurion Lounges already open (with even more opening this year) so if your travels include Dallas Fort-Worth (DFW), Hong Kong (HKG), Houston (IAH), Las Vegas (LAS), Miami (MIA), New York – LaGuardia (LGA), Philadelphia (PHL), Phoenix (PHX), San Francisco (SFO), or Seattle (SEA), you can get a taste of what Charlotte will be offering.
If you don’t utilize these airports too often, don’t worry as Denver (DEN), New York (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX) and London Heathrow (LHR) are also confirmed to be receiving these lounges.
Is anyone flying out of Charlotte any time soon?
