Every credit card comes with a list of “perks.” Some are more eye-catching than others but nonetheless a perk. One of my favorite perks of American Express credit cards are ‘Amex offers.’
If you’re not familiar with Amex Offers, it’s a program where your American Express credit cards are targeted for various savings and bonus offers. In many cases, these offers can save you big money. I mean…would you pay $100/year to save $500?
HOW DO I SEE MY ‘AMEX OFFERS?’
To view your Amex Offers, login to your Amex account and scroll to the bottom of your account summary page where you’ll see a list of eligible offers for that specific card. It should look like this…
The offers vary from person to person and can come in different forms. For example, one individual may be offered points for spending a certain amount of money, while another individual may be offered a credit for spending the same amount of money.
NEW AMEX OFFER
Currently, there’s a new targeted Amex Offer for $50 back when you spend $250+ at select Marriott Bonvoy properties.
- This is valid for stays in the US and US territories
- This is valid for stays through April 15, 2020
- The following Marriott brands are excluded: Marriott Vacation Club, Design Hotels, Protea Hotels, Marriott Executive Apartments, Homes & Villas by Marriott International, and Vistana Signature Experiences
I would recommend that you read through the offer terms so you’re aware of how to utilize this offer. Initially, I was very excited because I’ll be traveling internationally in the next few days and would be able to use this discount. However the terms state “Offer valid only at participating Marriott Bonvoy properties in the U.S. and U.S. territories.” I will still use the offer, however it won’t be for my upcoming trip.
PRO TIP: You have to spend $250+ cumulatively in order to get the credit. In other words, you can spend across multiple stays to meet that threshold.
FINAL STAMP
I’m a numbers guy and this is a great opportunity to save 20% off the cost of an upcoming stay at a Marriott property.
Perhaps the best aspect of this offer is how many Marriott brands are included in this promotion. You could be saving 20% on Category 1 hotels or luxury Category 8 hotels.
