Final Day To Apply: Increased offers on the Delta American Express cards (Up to 75,000 SkyMiles)

Let’s get straight to the point…some of the links on this site pay 1TattedPassport a referral bonus for anyone that is approved. If you’re finding yourself short of Skymiles, today will be your last day to capitalize on the increased Delta American Express card offers. Currently, there are increased offers on all the personal versions of the card (except the Blue).

Note: The business versions of the Delta Gold and Platinum cards do NOT have increased offers, so I would recommend waiting if you’re looking to grab a Delta business credit card.

Offer #1: Delta Gold Skymiles Card (Read More)

The current offer for the Delta Gold card is 60,000 bonus Skymiles. To my knowledge, I think this may be the highest ever public offer on this card. Here are the details:

  • Earn 60,000 Bonus Miles after spending $2,000 in purchases on your new Card in your first 3 months and a $50 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 3 months.
  • Annual fee is waived the first year ($95 after year 1)
  • Earn 2x miles on Delta purchases, 1x on all other purchases
  • Free first checked bag on Delta flights

This is a great card to pick up if you want Skymiles particularly with no annual fee for the first year.

Offer #2: Delta Reserve Card (Read More)

The current offer for the Delta Reserve is 70,000 bonus Skymiles. Typically, the card offers a low mileage bonus but awards you with some MQMs after meeting the initial spend as well. However, in this case, it is offering fewer MQMs and far more redeemable miles. Here are the details:

  • Earn 75,000 Bonus Miles and 5,000 Medallion Qualifying Miles after you spend $5,000 in purchases on your new Card in your first 3 months.
  • Delta SkyClub access for the primary cardmember when traveling on Delta flights
  • $450 annual fee
  • Earn 2x miles on Delta purchases, 1x on all other purchases
  • Free first checked bag on Delta flights
  • Annual companion certificate for main cabin or first class fares (note: some restrictions apply)

This is definitely a card for the elite Delta flyer. The main perk of this card is Delta SkyClub access, but the card also comes with a significant annual fee. You will have to individually assess whether it’s worth the costs.

Offer #3: Delta Platinum Skymiles Card (Read More)

The current offer for the Delta Platinum is 75,000 bonus Skymiles. This is definitely the highest offer I have ever seen for the Delta Platinum. Here are the details:

  • Earn 75,000 Bonus Miles and 5,000 Medallion Qualifying Miles after you make $3,000 in purchases on your new Card within your first 3 months.
  • In addition, earn a $100 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 3 months.
  • $195 annual fee
  • Earn 2x miles on Delta purchases, 1x on all other purchases
  • Free first checked bag on Delta flights
  • Annual companion certificate for domestic main cabin fares (some restrictions)

WHICH ONE SHOULD YOU APPLY FOR?

This equation can be complicated for a number of reasons. First, American Express has a once-per-lifetime rule for their card products. In other words, if you’ve had any of the cards above (without lifetime language), you’re ineligible for the card again. However, if you’re eligible and just looking for a basic card with a solid bonus, the Gold card is a good bet.

FINAL STAMP

Personally, I don’t have much loyalty to Delta (or any airline for that matter) so I find more value in the redeemable miles (e.g. 70,000 miles, etc.) than the bonus MQMs.

Important Note: The statement credit are triggered by any Delta purchase. You do not need to spend $50 (or $100) to receive it. I bought a $3.00 can of Pringles and received the $100 statement credit. $97 profit!
