Last Chance: 75K Bonus Miles With United Airlines Business Card (No Annual Fee For First Year)

Before we dive into this, let me say there is a lot of uncertainty concerning future airline travel schedules, but I still think this is a great time to earn miles & points that you’ll be able to redeem when it’s safe (and responsible) to travel.

UNITED 75K WELCOME BONUS

So, earlier this year Chase and United Airlines launched a lucrative new business credit card, which has a solid welcome bonus and some awesome perks but it’s only available through 30 November 2020. <—That’s tomorrow!

The United Business Card is offering a limited time bonus of 75,000 MileagePlus bonus miles after spending $5,000 within the first 3 months of account opening.

Although, this welcome bonus isn’t a large as the 100k offered earlier this year, the 100k offer also required a minimum spend of $10,000 which is considerably more money for most consumers.

$5000 is also a lot of money to obtain the bonus but it shouldn’t be extremely difficult for a small business.

This card is subject to the usual Chase credit card approval restrictions, including the 5/24 rule.

$99 ANNUAL FEE

The United Business Card has a reasonable $99 annual fee which is not bad at all. Considering the perks (below), many people will easily be able to justify the annual fee and come out ahead. However, for the current offer, the card has a $0 intro annual fee for the first year which allows you “try it, before you buy it.”

Additionally, you can also add authorized users to the card at no extra cost.

2X MILES PER DOLLAR SPENT

The card offers 2x on the following:

  • United Airlines purchases
  • Restaurants
  • Local transit (e.g. taxis, mass transit, and ride sharing services, etc.)
  • Gas stations
  • Office supply stores

While these bonus categories are not unique in the slightest, bonus points are bonus points, particularly if you tend to fly with United more than other carriers.

ADDITIONAL CARD PERKS

In addition to the 100K sign-up bonus and the 2x mileage categories, the card offers some other great perks including:

  • 5,000 bonus miles on your anniversary every year when you have both the United Business Card and a personal United Airlines credit card
  • $100 annual United travel credit when you make at least seven United purchases per year, each over $100
  • Two United Club passes every year (both upon account opening, and in subsequent years)
  • First checked bag free
  • Priority boarding on United Airlines flights
  • Get 25% back on United inflight purchases

IS THIS A NEW CARD?

This can be confusing because there is also a United Explorer Business Card (which has a $95 annual fee).

Interestingly, it appears the United Explorer Business Card has stopped accepting applications, and those with the card won’t automatically be converted to the new United Business Card. So, it would appear that people would be eligible for both cards.

It’s worth noting that existing Explorer Business Card customers can call Chase and should be able to product change if you would rather go that route.

FINAL STAMP

Personally, I think this is an incredibly well-rounded card for a United loyalist.

On the simplest level, for the $0 annual fee during the first year, you’re getting a $100 annual United credit if you make at least seven purchases with the airline per year, and you get 5,000 bonus miles if you also have a personal United card.

In other words, it’s impossible not to extract more value than the annual fee and anyone that flies with United with nay frequency should very much come out ahead with this card long term.

Are you planning to apply for this card?
