Have you experienced the arctic chill that has enveloped most of the USA over the past few days? Are you dreaming about a change of pace that, perhaps, involves paella, la Plaza Mayor, and a cheap ticket to get there?
Well, I have a good deal for you! I’m going to keep this short so you have plenty of time to search.
Right now the price of a roundtrip economy flight to Madrid is the same price as many domestic USA tickets and the dates of availability go as far out as a year from now.
WHAT CITIES AND HOW MUCH?
To be completely candid, I stumbled across this deal attempting to book my own travel so I did not complete an exhaustive search. But right now TAP Air Portugal has extremely low fares out of Newark (EWR) and New York (JFK) starting at $251. For example…

Some fares are a few more dollars depending on the date that you choose. For example…

HOW TO BOOK
- Go to google flights
- Type in your origin city
- Type in your destination (aka Madrid)
- Search the calendar function
- Enjoy the savings!
PUTTING THE PUZZLE PIECES TOGETHER
You may remember a THIS POST in which I detailed 5 airlines that offer stopovers for free. Well, TAP Portugal in on that list and offers the TAP Air Portugal Stopover which allows you to stopover (in either Lisbon or Porto) up to five nights at no additional airfare costs when you book directly on the TAP website but use google flights to find the dates.
The stopover program also offers discounts on hotels and other experiences turning this 2-for-1 into an amazing deal.
In other words, you could add some additional cities to this super cheap ticket and do some real damage (in a good way). 😉
PRO-TIP: Portugal is one of the most underrated countries in the world!

If you have Chase Ultimate Reward points, you can redeem your points and the flight would be completely free and you would still earn frequent flyer miles on top of that.
Remember that credit card that I recommended that had a 60,000 point welcome bonus? If you obtained the bonus, congratulations, you have three roundtrip tickets to Spain!

FINAL STAMP
Yeah…so….
Who’s booking a trip to Spain?
