IHG Rewards Club (the loyalty program of IHG) has just revealed the details of their next global promotion.
This promotion lets you earn up to 4x points through a tiered method.
Earn Up To 4x Points With IHG Rewards Club
This promotion is valid for stays between February 15 and May 15, 2020 but REGISTRATION is required by April 15, 2020.
The earning structure is as follows:
- 1,000 bonus points for your first night
- 2x bonus points for nights 2-5 (up to 100,000 points); max. out at 4 nights
- 3x bonus points for nights 6-14 (up to 100,000 points); max. out at 9 nights
- 4x bonus points starting with night 15+ (up to 100,000 points)
THINGS TO CONSIDER
All nights booked directly with IHG qualify for this promotion, however the nightly rate has to be at least $30.
POINTS EARNING BREAKDOWN
There are four status levels at IHG: Club, Gold Elite, Platinum Elite, and Spire Elite.
All four levels earn 10x points per dollar spent at most brands (5x points per dollar at Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites).
However, IHG Rewards Club elite members receive an added bonus (10% bonus for Gold members, 50% bonus for Platinum members, and 100% bonus for Spire members).
If you pay with the IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card (which has and INCREDIBLE 140,000 points Welcome Bonus right now) you would earn an additional 10x IHG bonus points per dollar spent.
Let’s say that you have the IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card, you would earn:
- 10X points from IHG for being an IHG Rewards Club Member
- 5X points from IHG with Platinum status (which is a benefit of having the card)
- 10X points for paying with your IHG Premier Card
- up to 4x points during this promotion
In other words, IHG Rewards Club Platinum members could be earning up 55x IHG points per dollar spent (40+5+10), which is impressive!
FINAL STAMP
I recognize that’s A LOT of math and you probably skipped over that section. But here is what you need to know…the new IHG promotion is solid but you’re obviously going to get the most ‘bang for your buck’ at the top level (15+ nights).
However, if you have upcoming stays or IHG is your go-to hotel loyalty brand, this is a no-brainer even if you’re not staying 15 or more nights!
As I always say…even if you don’t have any planned nights at IHG, register for the promotion anyway. You will undoubtedly forget about this promotion and possibly book an IHG stay before the promotion ends. Don’t leave free points on the table!
