For better (or for worse), I’m fairly decisive when it comes to making decisions. Typically, procrastination is not something that I struggle with. However, I admit it, I procrastinated…AND IT PAID OFF!
Every week, I make an effort to take a look at my “Amex Offers” to determine if any new offers have appeared. It can help me determine where I should concentrate my efforts and where I can, ultimately, save money.
I will be attending a family reunion this summer in Las Vegas and I’ve been struggling to determine the best route. Do I spend points? Do I spend cash? A combination of points and cash? Stay on the strip? Stay off-strip? Are there any hotels that don’t have those pesky resort fees? Etc.
This morning as I was scrolling through my Amex offers, I saw this…
With a little bit of research, you’ll find that the prices for Las Vegas hotels can swing wildly. A specific hotel room can cost $40 for a Thursday night stay and cost $300 for a Friday night stay. Yes…the SAME EXACT ROOM! Factor in varying “resort fees” and Las Vegas can be a budget buster.
Personally, I’ve changed plans and hotels 1000 times.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
As you can see from the T&C’s, the offer applies to specific hotels (e.g. Bellagio, Vdara, NYNY, etc.). However, I know that I will be there for a few days so I will be spending more than $500, therefore the $100 credit is icing on the cake.
I haven’t been to Las Vegas in years so this is going to be an interesting trip.
For anyone else that is planning on visiting Las Vegas, there are a few additional things that you should consider.
- Stack Offers – One of the nice things about this MGM Resorts Amex Offer is that it can be stacked with M life offers to get a cheap stay on the Las Vegas Strip.
- Status Match – This is a bit more advanced, but if you have Hyatt status, you can also status match to M Life and receive some nice benefits.
- Room Charges – If the room rate isn’t enough to trigger the Amex Offer, make sure you charge everything to your room. The great thing about Las Vegas is that you can charge bills across MGM resort properties during your stay. For example, if you eat at the ARIA buffet, you can charge that to your room at Bellagio. Hopefully, those room charges would hopefully be enough to cross the $500 spend threshold for the Amex Offer.
I’m not sure what my strategy is going to be but I do know this… procrastination does pay off. hahaha
What’s your favorite hotel in Las Vegas? What is your favorite thing to do in Vegas?
