Fly Alaska Airlines, Ski Free

It’s no secret…their footprint isn’t as big as the legacy carriers (United, Delta, American), but Alaska Airlines is a great program.

Alaska Airlines is currently running a “Fly Alaska, Ski Free” promotion.

On their promotion page, you’ll notice that Alaska flies to some of the most pristine ski destinations in North America. Alaska has partnered with twelve resorts, including Steamboat, RED Mountain, and Squaw Valley, to offer this program. All you have to do is show your Alaska Airlines boarding pass and you ski free.

If you are interested, I would recommend visiting the individual link for each resort. I noticed the terms were different for each resort.

For example…

Show your Alaska Airlines boarding pass, for travel from Steamboat (HDN) to Seattle or San Diego, at the Steamboat Ticket Office and get a FREE day of skiing on your departure date!*

As a contrast…

Ski for free the same day you arrive at Big White. Simply present your same day of arrival Alaska Airlines boarding pass and ID to the Village Centre Mall ticket office and you’ll receive a lift ticket on us.

FINAL STAMP

If you are a person that enjoys skiing (or snowboarding), I’m sure you are aware of how expensive lift tickets can be. There are a few blackout dates with the resorts but if you have plans to go skiing, why not do it for free?
Note: If you are planning to fly on December 21 (A.K.A. Ugly Sweater Day), Alaska is will be running a concurrent promotion known as the “Ugly Sweater Promotion.”  Alaska Airlines guests who wear their festive holiday sweaters to the airport on Friday, Dec. 21 will receive priority boarding.

Is anyone planning to take advantage of either promotions? Would you wear an ugly sweater to get priority boarding if you did not have it otherwise?
