I wanted to share a story from 1TP subscriber (AND prolific money saver) Tosha, who has proven time and time again that her creativity knows no limits.
The name should sound familiar as Tosha has shared stories and been featured in several of my “reader success” stories over the past year, including when she was able to masterfully piece together a trip to Puerto Rico and Florida for cheap, secure a free hotel, and travel to paradise for pennies on the dollar.
Let’s take a look at another great story…
It’s me again. I just wanted to let you know that you should be receiving $40 in your Rakuten account soon.
I wasn’t aware of cash back portals until you posted about it. But I enjoy saving money, so I signed up for it using your REFERRAL LINK. I made a purchase that was $40+ today (so you will receive your bonus), and I also followed your example and referred my hubby. He purchased a retailer gift card for $40 which means I will receive $40 and he will receive a free $40 gift card.
Surprisingly, when I logged into the portal today (11/11/20), they were having a sale, if you will, and offering 11% off purchases.
When all is said and done:
– You (Jamal) made $40
– I received an 11% discount on an item that I was going to purchase anyway
– I made $40
– and my hubby made $40.I gotta say “today was a good day.” – Cube
Thanks again Jamal.
Tosha
Yesterday, we were indeed seeing increased cash back rates on Rakuten with 11% off available at hundreds of retailers…

FINAL STAMP
First, let me say “thank you, Tosha.”
This is an excellent example of how easy it is to earn money.
Again, if you’re not familiar with Rakuten, it’s a shopping portal that partners with hundreds of retailers. For example, you’ll find retailers like eBay, Macys, Adidas, Kohls, Target, Groupon for the thrifty souls, and even Coach for the “ballers.”
If you log into Rakuten, select a retailer and begin your shopping experience, you’ll take home a bonus on every eligible purchase you make. In addition, you’ll also earn cash back / points on the credit card that you used for the purchase.
As I always say, there’s little downside to the points and miles hobby as long as you stay organized and manage your expenses and credit responsibly.
