Qatar Qsuites is widely regarded as one of the best (if not THE BEST) business class products in the sky. One of questions I receive the most is “how do I book QSuites?” and “is it really that good?”
Well, if you’re interested in experiencing it for yourself, awards are currently wide open in January and February 2021 from New York (JFK), Atlanta (ATL), and Miami (MIA). Availability is also decently available out of Boston and other cities to Doha (and beyond).
I understand that we’re all social distancing at the moment and nobody knows for sure when life and travel will return to normal, but I’m optimistic (and hopefully you are too) that this will have passed by then and we will be able to travel again.

- Book via American Airlines AAdvantage for 70K to the Middle East (or 75k to Africa).

Which Cities Have QSuites?
According to the seat maps, it appears Atlanta will receive Qsuites on 1 May 2020, and Miami will receive Qsuites on 1 August 2020. However, given the current situation, these schedules may vary. Below are the frequencies pre-coronavirus…
- Atlanta (ATL) – Operated daily w/ 777-200LR
- Boston (BOS) – Operated daily w/ 777-300ER
- Chicago (ORD) – Operated daily w/ 777-300ER
- Dallas (DFW) – Operated daily w/ A350-1000
- Houston (IAH) – Operated daily w/ A350-1000
- Los Angeles (LAX) – Operated daily w/ A350-1000
- Miami (MIA) – Operated daily w/ A350-1000
- Montreal – Operated 4x weekly w/ 777-300ER
- New York (JFK) – Operated twice daily w/ A350-1000
- Philadelphia (PHL) – Operated daily w/ 777-300ER
- Washington (IAD) – Operated daily w/ 777-300ER
Quick Thoughts
Notable here is that Qsuites are wide open from New York, Atlanta, Miami and more to Doha in January and February 2021 and your best bets for booking those flights are via American Airlines AAdvantage.
American charges 70K miles + $7.65 one-way in business class to the Middle East, or you can continue on to South Africa (or other Qatar destinations in Africa) for 75K + $15.70 one-way.
If you had a slight case of FOMO because you weren’t able to join your friends and family for “year of return,” here’s your chance!
For the sake of comparison: Cathay Pacific Asia Miles would charge 75K to Doha (and 90K beyond), but they also add ~ $666 in taxes and fees, making American the better option.
Here’s a look at availability from New York to Doha in January 2021:

…And from New York in February 2021:

Awards are also decently available out of other US gateways, including Miami to Doha in January 2021:

And Atlanta to Doha in January 2021:

You won’t find quite as much availability out of Boston, Chicago, Dallas, but there are some dates are available. Flexibility will be key for those cities.
FINAL STAMP
Qsuites availability from the USA can be challenging to come by if you do not have any flexibility. Again, there is no guarantee that travel will be available and advisable by January /February 2021, but that is (hopefully) far enough out to consider booking. In my opinion, if we are unable to fly 8 months from now, we (as a society) have bigger problems on our hands.
Keep in mind that American Airlines will let you change dates and routing within a year of the date of booking as long as origin and destination don’t change, so you could theoretically change these as far out as a year from today if availability permits.
As far as Qatar Airways, they have some of the best service, food, and drinks of all the airlines in the industry. However, Qsuites – the business product – pushes it far beyond what other airlines offer.
