New Amex Offer: MGM Resorts (Las Vegas) – Spend $400+, Get $80 Back

American Express is back with another great Amex Offer that can help you save on your next hotel stays in Las Vegas.

This offer will save you $80 after spending $400 or more at MGM resorts. Additionally, some cardholders are seeing offers for 8,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $400 or more.

THE DEAL

This morning as I was scrolling through my Amex offers, I saw this…

With a little bit of research, you’ll find that the prices for Las Vegas hotels can swing wildly. A specific hotel room can cost $40 for a Thursday night stay and cost $300 for a Friday night stay. Yes…the SAME EXACT ROOM! Factor in varying “resort fees” and Las Vegas can be a budget buster.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

As you can see from the T&C’s, the offer applies to specific hotels (e.g. Bellagio, Vdara, NYNY, etc.).

FINAL STAMP

Although, I had a CRAZY EXPERIENCE the last time I traveled to Vegas, LV can offer some great fun for everyone, families included.

Typically, when I visit Las Vegas, I prefer to stay at MGM properties because they have a partnership with Hyatt, offering points earning and elite night credit for stays at MGM properties.

Additionally, reciprocal status with Hyatt gives me status which enables me to skip the ridiculously long check-in lines in Las Vegas

For anyone else that is planning on visiting Las Vegas, there are a few additional things that you should consider.

  • Stack Offers – One of the nice things about this MGM Resorts Amex Offer is that it can be stacked with M life offers to get a cheap stay on the Las Vegas Strip.
  • Status Match – This is a bit more advanced, but if you have Hyatt status, you can also status match to M Life and receive some nice benefits.
  • Room Charges – If the room rate isn’t enough to trigger the Amex Offer, make sure you charge everything to your room. The great thing about Las Vegas is that you can charge bills across MGM resort properties during your stay. For example, if you eat at the ARIA buffet, you can charge that to your room at Bellagio. Hopefully, those room charges would hopefully be enough to cross the $500 spend threshold for the Amex Offer.

What’s your favorite hotel in Las Vegas? What is your favorite thing to do in Vegas?
