Amex Offers: Earn 8 Points (per dollar) At Amazon, Target, And Walmart

Let’s be honest…I own various credit cards that receive no love and collect dust for several reasons.

In fact, I even own credit cards that I continue to pay an annual fee on that receive very little attention. The reason I keep these cards and pay the annual fee is because the benefits outweigh the annual fee.

One such credit card that (unfortunately) hasn’t been utilized much is my Marriott Bonvoy card. I continue to pay the annual fee because:

  • I tend to stay at a lot of Marriott properties (at least prior to the pandemic) and the annual fee yields a free night certificate. In recent years, I’ve been able to redeem my free night certificate for $500+/night hotel rooms for paying an annual fee of $125.
  • The card gives 15 nights towards elite status annually
  • And the card gives 6 points (per dollar) for Marriott stays

In addition, my Bonvoy card has AMEX offers which also save me money on various purchases.

If you’re not familiar with Amex Offers, it’s a program where your American Express credit cards are targeted for various savings and bonus offers. In many cases, these offers can save you big money. I mean…would you pay $100/year to save $500?

NEW AMEX OFFER

This morning I was searching through my new Amex offers and located the following Amex offer on my Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card [READ MORE];

Get 6 Bonus Marriott Bonvoy points per dollar (up to $3,500) through 27 December 2020.

After factoring in the 2 base points per dollar that the card accumulates on every purchase, that would mean you are earning a total of 8 points per dollar spent.

As always, I would recommend that you read through the offer terms so you’re aware of how to utilize this offer.

HOW DO I SEE MY ‘AMEX OFFERS?’

To view your Amex Offers, login to your Amex account and scroll to the bottom of your account summary page where you’ll see a list of eligible offers for that specific card. It should look like this…

The offers vary from person to person and can come in different forms. For example, one individual may be offered points for spending a certain amount of money, while another individual may be offered a credit for spending the same amount of money.

FINAL STAMP

There is a targeted Amex offer for 6 additional points per dollar spent on The Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card [READ MORE].

I’m not completely sure if this offer will be found on The Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card [READ MORE], but it doesn’t hurt to look if you have this card too.

Although this isn’t an offer that warrants making it your #1 card, additional points are always welcome.

And as we head into the holidays, I presume many people will be buying gifts from Amazon Target or Walmart, so why not boost your points balance at the same time.

And don’t forget, you can use THIS TRICK if you want to see more Amex offers.

Were you targeted for this Amex Offer? Do you plan on taking advantage of this offer?

  1. Sure is. Now comes the tough part, developing my strategy to tackle all these limited offers. I’m about $50 away from the $1k for 10,000 Marriott points offer.

I think after that, I’ll focus on spending $4,000 of my WOH card and the remaining $1,000 at the beginning of 2021, so I can get credit for the two WOH elite nights in 2021.

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to hit 15k in spend before my anniversary year in August of 21, but it would be nice to collect as many elite credits on my way to picking up another category 1-4 certificate.

  2. I think keeping track has been the biggest challenge for everyone. I didn’t realize EVERY card would offer these bonuses or I would’ve made an ultimate guide at the beginning.

Your strategy is solid. My new focus is on Hyatt too.
