I’m a big fan of Turkish Airlines!
In early 2018 Boeing and Turkish Airlines confirmed that they had finalized a firm order for 25 787-9 Dreamliners. At the time, the airline had also expressed interest for up to 25 Airbus A350-900’s in an effort to modernize their fleet as they grew into their brand new airport LINK
We’ve also known that Turkish would be introducing a new business class product on these new planes. However, prior to now, the airline had only released artist renderings.
NO MORE RENDERINGS…WE NEED REAL LIFE!
Well, the time has come. Turkish recently took possession of their first 787-9 and released actual photos of their new business and economy class seats via twitter.
Check out these photos…
The new business class cabin will feature an all-aisle access, 1-2-1 configuration…
…and from the rear of business class…
…and a photo of Economy class…
The new seat is definitely an upgrade from their current business class product…
Don’t get me wrong, their current business class seat is solid and their food and service truly make Turkish great! But in this day and age, you have to standout!
Both cabins look stunning, but I am really looking forward to trying their new business class!
If you’re interested in flying on this plane, you have two options:
1) fly to Turkey as Turkish will be flying their first Dreamliner twice a day between Istanbul and Antalya during the 2019 summer so crew are able to familiarize themselves with the new aircraft or;
2) wait until late Summer / early Fall when Turkish begins flying to these beautiful birds to the US.
At the moment, it appears that…
– Washington Dulles (IAD) will be the first US city to receive the 787-9 plane with it’s inaugural flight slated for August 8, 2019 and;
– Atlanta (ATL) will be the second US city with the slated departure on September 10, 2019
Unfortunately, I’m seeing limited award availability on these routes but hopefully that changes soon.
What do you think about Turkish Airlines’ new business class? Are you as excited as I am to try it? What has been your experience flying with Turkish?
